Colin Bridgerton’s Heroic Arc May Be Different From Everything We’ve Seen Before

As 16 May approaches, the Bridgerton fandom is getting more and more excited about the upcoming premiere.
Since Christmas 2023, when Netflix and Shondaland finally gave fans the release date for season 3, all the theories, assumptions and expectations have flooded social media even more frequently than before.
Despite the fact that the show follows roughly the same structure for each of its seasons, choosing a couple and focusing on their love story over the course of 8 episodes, people still don't know exactly what to expect.
Seasons 1 and 2 have shown that Shondaland isn't afraid to stray from the original plot, so the story itself may surprise even the most loyal book fans.
The only thing fans know for sure is that they can expect more drama, more longing and more character development. Which, by the way, is what this season's main character is desperately trying to do, even after two years in the background.
Colin Bridgerton And Lady Whistledown S3
In the previous two seasons of Bridgerton, the male leads had their chance to charm viewers with heroic acts. For Simon it was protecting Daphne from an arranged marriage and unwanted advances, encouraged by her brother, and for Anthony it was carrying Kate to safety after her riding accident.
While many Bridgerton fans would be happy to see Colin in any of these circumstances, there is a better way to develop his character.
Instead of showing his physical strength, it would be nice to see Colin's mental strength, especially since he hasn't had many opportunities to show it before.
As we all know, Penelope's writing is perhaps one of the biggest obstacles in her and Colin's path to happiness. No matter how hard she tried to protect the Bridgertons from Lady Whistledown's attacks, season two turned things around and made them the target of town gossip.
Depending on Colin's reaction, the relationship could take a turn for the worse.
What viewers want to see is Colin either figuring out the identity of the mysterious Lady Whistledown on his own and having his heroic moment by giving Penelope the acceptance she deserves, or making it easier for her to continue pursuing her passion.
No physical battle could ever be as important as letting go of your pride and allowing your partner to shine as brightly as they deserve. And that is exactly the moral that Polin fans want to see front and center.
