Cillian Murphy May Return in 28 Days Sequel, But There's One Condition

Cillian Murphy has long since earned the status of everyone's crush. His legendary role as Thomas Shelby in Peaky Blinders made even those who didn't know him before fall in love with the actor.

Everything about Murphy is somehow majestic. The way he plays his characters, the way he looks or talks. There's just no way not to be awestruck by Murphy.

And now, for the first time, he is about to become the star of a real blockbuster movie. So you can only imagine how his popularity will grow.

However, while Oppenheimer gives Murphy a chance to become a big screen star, there was another movie that was actually his first big break. Murphy was cast by Danny Boyle in the 2000 film 28 Days Later as a man who awakens from a coma to find an abandoned world torn apart by a zombie apocalypse.

The movie became a smash hit in an instant. 28 Days Later garnered $84.6 million on a budget of $8 million. So it was no surprise when the creators decided to shoot the sequel movie, 28 Weeks Later.

Unfortunately, the new movie didn’t become as successful as the parent one. And maybe the reason was that Murphy wasn’t involved in it.

However, the two filmmakers have decided it's time to consider a possible return to the franchise, and it sounds like Murphy could be involved in whatever they're discussing. He already agreed to become a part of it if the movie gets a title 28 Years Later.

"I was talking to Danny Boyle recently, and I said, “Danny, we shot the movie at the end of 2000.” So I think we’re definitely approaching 28 Years Later. But like I’ve always said, I’m up for it,” Murphy said in one of his recent interviews with Collider.

So it seems like the actor already made up his mind about becoming a lead in a post-apocalyptic future in England. And now we should just wait for the announcement.
