Chicago Fire's Most Confusing Character Makes No Sense
Chicago Fire has a pretty large number of characters, both old and new — and while some of them are absolute fan favorites, others are pretty questionable at times.
We've already written about many Chicago Fire characters: those who literally no one cares about, those who are getting actively ruined by the writers, those who were unfairly privileged, and many others.
This time, we want to ask you this: what's up with Dylan? Is it just us, or does he simply not make any sense?
Dylan came into the show with no warning, admittedly with the sole reason of making up Sylvie's new love interest.
But as we see, they just don't work out: they don't have the chemistry, and after the last episode it's painfully (literally) obvious that Sylvie is still in love with Matt Casey.
What's the point of Dylan, then?
Don't get us wrong, we don't hate on him or want him out: Christopher Allen is a great actor, and Dylan himself might have potential if he's broken from the only loop he's stuck in.
But for now, his purpose seems to be Sylvie, and Sylvie's attitude toward him even being around changes from episode to episode.
Another issue has been made clear: the hug Sylvie and Matt shared last episode showed that she loves him. Her tears reveal as much, but admittedly, Casey had the same feelings: it seemed like he wiped a tear off his cheek, too, after she ran away.
Amid the rumors of Casey's upcoming comeback, it's bound to be the main cliffhanger of the season. We bet you, the scene with him hugging Sylvie was meant to set up the new drama involving the two.
Matt will either come back in the last episode or, more likely, it will be hinted to build up the anticipation for the next season.
Considering his potential return and the obviousness of their mutual feeling with Sylvie, the writers should really create something else for Dylan if he is to stay.
Right now, he makes next to no sense, and we don't want to see him stay this way.
Especially if (or when?) Matt and Sylvie get back together, he'll need a separate storyline.
Because if he doesn't, that would mean he's only been here for the incoherent Sylvie-related drama, and that would be all too bad.
