Chicago Fire Fans Can’t Hate the Brettsey Wedding Enough
In the wake of Matt Casey and Sylvie Brett’s fast-approaching wedding day, Chicago Fire fans are spilling out their hate for Brettsey, and we can’t get enough of it.
Summary:
- Matt Casey and Sylvie Brett are getting married in the upcoming Chicago Fire S12E6 before leaving the show for good.
- Some fans claim this couple should never have existed and think Casey was better off dating Gabby Dawson.
- Others disagree but still point out that Brettsey had a rushed romantic relationship and should’ve had more time.
Unfortunately, we’ll have to say farewell to Chicago Fire’s two beloved characters in Season 12 Episode 6. Matt Casey and Sylvie Brett are leaving the show for good, but they’re doing so in the nicest fashion possible: with a wedding, sailing off into their happily ever after. Fans might be upset, but it’s a nice and fitting finale for them.
At least, if you’re not opposed to Brettsey as a whole. Many fans believed they wouldn’t make it as a couple, and some genuinely hate their relationship. And what better time to let all those feelings out than one episode before the wedding, right?
Some Chicago Fire Fans Just Hate Brettsey
Over at the Chicago Fire subreddit, fans of the show are getting more candid on Casey and Brett’s wedding and relationship than ever. Apparently, this couple has many haters — and even more people that don’t buy into their love story.
Part of the fan community genuinely believes that Matt Casey was better off with Gabby Dawson. This is an…interesting take for sure, but it’s shared by quite a few people.
“In my opinion, everything was so off with [Brettsey]. I know many like them together, but my tolerance of the show lessened when feelings were shared between them. I know Dawson isn’t a fan favorite, but [Dawsey] just made more sense together — and the chemistry was felt,” Reddit user silence-scripted wrote.
But that’s not the only take on Brettsey, thankfully. After all, Dawsey is indeed quite unpopular to this day, and, chemistry or not, she would have made Casey’s life hell.
Some Fans Didn’t Like the Rushed Relationship
Apart from the avid Brettsey haters, there are others who believe that this couple was ultimately the right call and it was the execution that made it look so wrong.
“I think Brett and Casey made more sense than [Casey] and Dawson. That being said, the execution of Brettsey is illogical. So they’re basically only a couple for a few months, max, and then he leaves, and it’s like a few weeks max they see each other and — wham! — they’re marrying?.. It’s more rushed than Game of Thrones ’ final season,” CJaneNorman pointed out.
We’re definitely leaning toward the latter opinion, so the number of Brettsey haters among the Chicago Fire fans surprised us quite a lot. But what do you think?
