We only have one episode left to say goodbye to them for good.

Summary:

  • After Chicago Fire S12E6, both Sylvie Brett and Matt Casey will leave the show for good.
  • While there’s some hope of Matt’s occasional appearances, Brett will be out of reach, and fans are not ready to let her go.
  • Since there will be an opening for a new paramedic after Brett’s gone, some fans insist on bringing back an OG Season 4 character.

Chicago Fire Season 12 Episode 6 aka Port in the Storm will be the last we see of two beloved characters, Matt Casey and Sylvie Brett. The new promo trailer showed glimpses of the couple’s wedding — and, consequently, farewell to the show. Fans don’t take well to the news, but it has been a long time coming now.

Casey and Brett Leave Chicago Fire for Good

Both Jesse Spencer and Kara Killmer are the OG actors in the series, and many fans have grown to love their characters, Matt Casey and Sylvie Brett — both separately and as a couple — over the past few years. However, Spencer has long given up on being Chicago Fire’s regular cast member, only joining it once in a while.

Sylvie Brett’s departure from the series was announced rather recently, alongside Blake Gallo’s, but at least Killmer stuck around for the first half of the season. Fans will still miss her, but hey — at least, Brett and Casey will have their happily ever after, and this is more than most other characters can ask for. ‘Member Otis?

Fans Are Not Ready to Let Sylvie Brett Go

While Chicago Fire fans have had enough time to come to terms with Jesse Spencer’s Schrödinger’s presence on the show, the news of Kara Killmer’s leave is still fresh and fans don’t want to see her go. The latest promo trailer for the next episode didn’t help, either, teasing Casey and Brett’s wedding and inevitable leave.

“I still don’t believe Kara will be gone, she’s always been there… Now Violet will become PIC, I assume; can’t help but wonder who they will bring in. We haven’t seen a new paramedic face in years,” YouTube user charliefual commented.

However, there’s a good chance — or, rather, hope — that Chicago Fire won’t bring a new face to the roster after Brett’s leave. Many fans insist the show brings back one unjustly booted paramedic who could have the perfect redemption arc now… And whose presence would have definitely spiced things up at Firehouse 51.

Pun intended.
