NBC is revising the budget and this character may become a victim of economic policy.

Recently, fans have been concerned about the fate of Chicago Fire. Taylor Kinney temporarily left the show for personal reasons, and his absence was too long.

As if the fans couldn't get enough stress, the show's writers have added another disturbing topic to discuss – Mouch's fate.

According to Deadline, renewal of Chicago Fire and other network shows comes with actors appearing in fewer episodes to cut costs.

At the same time, episode 22 of season 11 looked like a farewell to Mouch, and the actor himself left the following post on Instagram: "No spoilers, I just want to say it's been an extraordinary 11 years, and I am so very grateful for the experience."

Episode 22 had viewers worried several times. Firehouse 51 was trying to put out a fire at a power plant when they were shot at by a sniper. At one point, Mouch fainted and the firefighters realized that a bullet had hit him.

Mouch was rushed to the hospital, where the team was told he would make a full recovery.

However, in the next scene, fans see Mouch and Christopher Hermann together as Mouch has trouble breathing and passes out again, and the episode ends with the audience in the dark about what happened to Mouch.

Given the economic policies of NBC, and the fact that although Mouch is one of the most popular characters, but does not play a major role in the plot, there is a danger that season 11 could be Mouch's last.

Many fans agree that Mouch does not deserve to die.

Instead of a tragic ending (if there is one), viewers would like to see the resulting injury not prove fatal, but become Mouch's motivation to retire and live a quiet life with Trudy.

Episode 22 raised a lot of questions, not only about Mouch's fate, but also about Brett's future. All signs point to Casey proposing to her, and fans have no doubt that she will accept.

She will finally be able to complete the storyline that has been dragging on for several seasons – adopting a child. If that happens, Casey will be a great father and they can move to a more peaceful place than Chicago.
