Chicago Fire: Brett's Biggest Mystery From Season 4 Finally Resolved
Brett has been hiding a secret all this time, one that has even interfered with her work at times.
The eleventh season of Chicago Fire is coming to an end, and all the characters are trying to solve their problems. Brett seems to be back to normal – she is doing well with her boyfriend Dylan and continuing her paramedic program.
However, her life is turned upside down when she has to make an important decision.
Many fans of the show will remember that in season 4, Brett went out of her way to help a woman give birth prematurely.
Unfortunately, the woman died, and Brett became obsessed with caring for this child, which was clearly beyond the call of duty.
Many viewers wondered what caused this behavior and reaction, but in the fourth and subsequent seasons, the show's creators did not provide an answer to this mystery.
A similar situation occurred in the eleventh season. Brett receives an emergency call and once again helps a woman give birth prematurely. This time everything goes much better – both the woman and the child survive.
However, another problem arises – the child was apparently unwanted and the woman abandoned him through Firehouse 51's anonymous door.
After long and painful deliberation, Brett decides to adopt the child and reveals the secret he has kept for eight years.
She tells Chief Boden that she sees herself in the child, as she was also abandoned by her mother, and that is why she feels such affection for these children.
Firehouse members are specifically taught not to get attached to the people they help, as it can be emotionally draining, but this time the situation became too personal for Brett.
She wanted to give the child the motherly love and care that she had never received.
Another event has happened in Brett's life – Casey has returned to Chicago. It is not yet known where this will lead, but one thing is for sure – Casey will try to renew his relationship with Brett.
And apparently the adopted child will only be the motivation for Casey, as he has already proven that he would be a wonderful father.
