Can Jodie Foster-Led 'True Detective' Top Previous Seasons? Here's What Fans Think
'True Detective' has already become somewhat of a TV classic despite having been launched just eight years ago.
It's official: Jodie Foster will lead the fourth season of 'True Detective ', which will be titled 'Night Country'. Issa Lopez and Barry Jenkins will be producing the upcoming season.
Foster's character will head to snowy Alaska to resolve the case which will revolve around the mysterious disappearance of the six men that operate the Tsahal Arctic Research Station.
"To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice," the official synopsis reads.
However, fans seem to be skeptical about Foster's upcoming role – with many people appearing to be thinking that the show should have ended for good after season 1.
Others, while admitting the achievements of season 1, argue that there is still a reason to continue.
Some people are just plain happy about Foster coming back to screens following her eight-year-long TV hiatus.
Foster last appeared on TV as a narrator in 'Makers: Women Who Make America' and 'The Simpsons ' where she voiced Maggie Simpson. She has not starred on small screens since 1975.
The fourth season of 'True Detective' does not have a release date yet, being in early development as of now.
