The actress’ career is finally revived to all her fans’ excitement.

Summary:

  • Cameron Diaz is making her way back to the screens later this year in Netflix ’s upcoming action comedy film that also stars Jamie Foxx.
  • The movie follows a couple of former CIA agents that suddenly have to go back to their duties after having given up on their careers.
  • The upcoming film will mark Diaz’ first ever appearance in a movie in 10 years since the actress announced her retirement from acting back in 2014.

Cameron Diaz officially left Hollywood back in 2014, but she has seemingly changed her mind. Back in the day, the actress made her final appearance in a musical comedy film Annie where she starred alongside Jamie Foxx.

Ironically enough, Diaz’s first ever movie in 10 years will show her partnering once again with Foxx in Netflix’s upcoming spy action film.

Cameron Diaz’s big comeback to the screens will be featured in the streaming’s movie Back in Action. The title gives quite a big hint at the main plot twist as the movie follows two former CIA agents Emily and Matt who, after having left their careers beside, decide to start a family.

Realizing that their cover was suddenly blown, the characters are called back in action that roughly thwarted their plans.

Directed by the comedy genre’s expert Seth Gordon who helmed movies like Four Christmases and Horrible Bosses, as well as some episodes for The Office and Modern Family, Back in Action is almost guaranteed a blow-up on streaming due to its star-packed cast that, except for Diaz and Foxx, includes Glenn Close and Andrew Scott.

When Did Cameron Diaz Quit Acting (And What Changed Her Mind)

Upon Back in Action’s announcement back in 2022, Diaz’s co-star Jamie Foxx admitted it was him who had eventually talked the actress into coming back to the screen. As the actor put it, he suggested to Diaz that it would just be fun, and this was probably what had convinced her after all.

Back in Action is set to be released on Netflix on November 15.
