It looks like Mike Flanagan's upcoming Netflix horror series, based on a famous Edgar Allan Poe's short story, won't shy away from showing tons of blood on screen.

Mike Flanagan is something of a horror maestro for Netflix, developing and directing such hit series as 'The Haunting of Hill House' and 'Midnight Mass' for the streaming giant. His new production will bring Poe's haunting story to life, with Bruce Greenwood, Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell and Mark Hamill starring in the prestigious mini-series. According to Kate Siegel, who also stars in the series, Flanagan is going to make the story much bloodier than it was in the source material.

Speaking to Inverse, Siegel revealed what Netflix subscribers should expect from 'House of Usher ', detailing her time on the gory set.

"['House of Usher'] is a bombastic, chaotic evil mess. It's buckets of blood. It's so much fun to do. The characters are all turned up to 11, and it's like nothing anyone has ever seen. But something kind of lurching and evil is making its way through all of us," Siegel said.

The series certainly needs some good news, with Frank Langella being recently fired for inappropriate behavior on set, and as Siegel teases the upcoming gore-feast, fans are more excited than ever.
