Bridgerton S3's Power Couple Risks Turning Into Another Kathony

Season 3 of the series is coming, and it's bringing the new power couple up on stage. Since the start of Bridgerton, Penelope and Colin have been shown as good friends.

But it was quite obvious that friendship is not what Penelope was hoping to get from the third Bridgerton child.

The relationship between these two is definitely the most complicated one. Season 1 introduced Marina, which changed the course of the potential love line.

Unfortunately for Colin, his affair with the girl ended up not so well, and he finally realized that his true desire was to travel around the world. So without further ado, he took off.

In Bridgerton season 2, Colin finally returned from his trip. But it turned out that his and Penelope's friendship had changed. The young Bridgerton no longer confided in her even despite her eagerness.

And when the opportunity showed itself, Colin told Penelope that she is only a friend to him, not even a potential romantic partner.

In addition to that, the final straw came when Penelope overheard a conversation in which Colin rudely revealed that he would never court her.

Fans are sure, with all these facts considered, Colin and Penelope's romance is going to be a difficult one to make happen.

Still there is hope that writers will do their best to introduce them as a couple. But for that to happen, they may need to use Anthony and Kate's relationship storyline as an example.

Fans remember how they first hated each other, then slowly came to liking each other, then finally developed true feelings of love. So the Colin and Penelope Bridgerton romance needs a similar slow burn storyline.

However, other fans think it would help the characters to finally fall in love with each other if they grow independently.

This means overcoming obstacles like Colin's post-travel façade, the Lady Whistledown secret, and transforming a barely existing intimate relationship into a romantic one. Besides, it would make sure Bridgerton doesn't just repeat itself.

"Colin needs time to figure himself out and Penelope needs time to get over the idealized version of Colin she has in her head. He said something bad about her.

She's said many bad things about other people. That scene should be an important lesson for both of them if executed right in the future. They're not right for each other right now. But that doesn't mean they're not right for each other," Reddit user Valenstein77 said.

Well, the only thing left for fans is to hope for is that these ideas will do the trick. Because who doesn't like a good love story?
