If we are to see her story at all.

Summary:

  • Bridgerton is a Netflix and Shondaland period romance television series adapted from Julia Quinn's series of novels of the same name.
  • The series follows the premise of the books, with each season dedicated to a different Bridgerton sibling.
  • Although Shonda Rhimes has so far stuck to the original love interests from the books, Eloise Bridgerton has been given a new side romance in season 2.
  • Her romantic interest, Theo, is also back for season 3.

While those Bridgerton fans who know this family only through the prism of the TV adaptation may not even know what and, most importantly, who awaits Miss Eloise Bridgerton in the future, book fans are already waiting to see Philoise in action. But they may have to wait a little longer.

In the second season of the show, Eloise's storyline took an unexpected turn when she made the acquaintance of Theo Sharpe, a commoner working in the print shop. The man quickly swept her off her feet and helped Eloise in her hunt for Lady Whistledown. Unfortunately, the heartbreaking finale separated the two.

Many thought that would be the end of Eloise and Theo, allowing the writers to delve deeper into Eloise's thoughts on love and heartbreak in season 3, just as they did with her older brother Anthony and Siena in season 1. However, the latest news suggests that Theo will be back.

Will Eloise and Theo Get Together In Bridgerton Season 3?

While some fans still believe that Shondaland would not risk further alienating the fanbase by creating an entirely new love story for one of the main characters, others are not so sure. Judging by the number of fans of Eloise and Theo as a couple, the audience is very receptive to the change, so there's no need to be so strict about the canon.

As hinted by the Independent Talent Agency on X (formerly known as Twitter), a few actors who used to be part of Bridgerton will be back for more in season 3. The list includes Calam Lynch, who portrays Theo, but excludes Chris Fulton, who appeared as Sir Philip Crane in the first two seasons.

While the romance between Eloise and Theo could certainly work, it's hard to imagine the writers backing away from what was already set up for the original Eloise and Philip storyline. His appearance in season 1, and then his reappearance in season 2, served as proof and promise that Eloise's story was not forgotten.

Now the story may get messy, and while it always adds to the drama, it's hard to imagine book fans being happy with it.

If you are interested in what awaits Eloise and Theo in season 3, be sure to tune in to Netflix on May 16, 2024 for the premiere of the first part of the season.
