Bridgerton's Season 3 Marketing Is Bad News: Is Benedict Out for Good?
Bridgerton's creators have skipped Benedict's season for the time being, but this "time being" might last longer than expected.
Season 3 is upon us, and the marketing team is doing their best to promote it – interviews, revelations, and even posters.
While some of the material features Colin and/or Penelope (and it makes sense), the lion's share of other promos seems to focus on Eloise, and fans are freaking out.
Benedict is nowhere to be seen on those posters, too. Should we be worried that he will remain on the sidelines in season 3? Is Eloise going to be the center character in season 4? So many questions!
Some people are staying calm and rational (let's learn from them), saying that Eloise could be the Edwina of season 3.
This means that Eloise could be a vital part of the season (she is Colin's sister and Penelope's ex-bestie, after all) – there's no confirmation that Benedict's story will be skipped again in season 4, so we all need to chill out.
In the books, there's a considerable time jump between Colin's and Eloise's stories, which is essential and probably won't be changed to the core.
Eloise still needs to mature and grow (and become a spinster) for her story to be established, while Colin and Penelope's relationship has been warming us up for the past two seasons.
Unrequited love can only live for so long not to bore the viewers, you know!
Bridgerton 's new showrunner, Jess Brownell, has already said that Benedict will play a major role in season 3. Maybe his love interest, Sophie, might even be introduced this upcoming season?
Some fans certainly think so! In season 2, Anthony was planning to hire new staff, including "a strong-willed lady's maid for Eloise." Could this be Benedict's Sophie?
If that's the case, Sophie could make an appearance as early as season 3, and we'll get to see her and Benedict's love story blossom.
The only downside is that they might totally steal away the spotlight from Colin and Penelope, who the fans aren't that big on in the first place.
Anyway, we'll have to wait a little longer to find out if any of our suspicions are true. There is a rumor that Bridgerton's creators might give us season 3 as a Christmas present…
