Bridgerton's Penelope Is Going To Face Her Toughest Battle In S3, And It Won't Be Pretty

Ever since Bridgerton fans learned that season 3 of the show will skip a book and move the show forward by focusing on the love story of Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featheringthon, the news has sparked a lot of discussion.

Not only were viewers wondering about the reasons behind the change in pacing, but they were also theorizing about how Penelope would handle the situations she's gotten herself into. Now that Lady Whistledown's secret is out and she has to regain her trust, it won't be easy.

While some think the hardest thing Penelope will have to do is face Marina and make peace with the woman whose life she almost ruined, others think it'll be impossible to rebuild her friendship with Eloise. However, there is another battle she must face in order to grow, and it may be even more difficult.

We have yet to see Penelope interact with her own mother, Portia, after the news broke. Though she was never the most loving mother, and Penelope is not about to lose an irreplaceable bond from her life, Portia is quite protective of her family's image, including Marina.

There's no way to guess what kind of reaction we can expect from Lady Featherington, but it's very likely that she won't be too happy about Penelope writing all these things about her own family and making them the target of endless gossip. Unfortunately, it's more than possible that Pen will end up being an enemy in her own house.

We'll have to wait and see if she learns her lesson gracefully or if there's more drama on the way. What is for sure, is that all the growth Penelope will go through would lead her to the happy ending with Colin.
