Bridgerton is one of the shows that found initial success in 2019, as viewers needed to find an escape into an alternate reality while facing a global pandemic. Based on the book series by Julia Quinn, the show was planned to focus on the love story of one of the Bridgerton siblings each season. Eloise Bridgerton And Penelope Featherington's Toxic Friendship

While viewers learned the secret of Lady Whistledown early on, in the season 1 finale, her persona remains incognito to most of the characters in the universe. The only person who was able to find out the secret of the scandal sheet writer was Eloise, who was dedicated to it from the beginning.

The revelation was quite painful for her when she found out that the writer was none other than her dearest friend Penelope. The confrontation scene in the season 2 finale broke many fans' hearts, as people were rooting for their friendship more than any romance on the show.

Eloise's disappointment in her friend is completely understandable, but the fact that she didn't know for so long shows how bad of a friend she's really been all these years, many believe. If she had cared enough to listen to what Penelope had said earlier, she might have figured out her secret path sooner.

In a scene of a fight, Eloise states that she was able to recognize the phrasing of the words her friend used for the first time that day, even though they spent a lot of time together almost every day. The middle Bridgerton recognizes the truth herself: she just hadn't been listening to her before.

Throughout the seasons, we have seen several instances of Eloise dismissing Penelope's thoughts or pushing her own agenda in a conversation instead of simply allowing her best friend to express herself. The fact that she found out about Lady Whistledown so late in the series just goes to show how inattentive she really was.

Will Eloise And Penelope Reconcile In Season 3?

Since season 3 of Bridgerton will focus mostly on the love story between Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, Eloise's older brother, there is a good chance that Eloise will still be very present and very vocal about their relationship.

Many viewers feel that if the writers don't do justice to this fan-favorite friendship and find a way to reconcile it, the season won't be as good as the second one. However, there aren't many clues leading up to that right now. If anything, people are expecting a lot of drama with little hope of a happy ending in the finale.

As of today, there is no official information on when season 3 will be released. Both Shondaland and Netflix's official accounts are keeping quiet with no promotional teasers or trailers, so fans shouldn't expect the season to be dropped anytime soon.
