Bridgerton's Actress Caught In The Middle Of Fandom's Battle With Netflix

The Bridgerton fandom, as active and vibrant as it is, has always been ready to support whatever the streaming platform that allows their favorite show to exist has to offer.

However, it is fair to assume that the respect and support would be mutual, not only for the fans themselves but also for the actors who work hard to give their best performance.

As one of the most streamed and discussed shows on the platform, Bridgerton must play a huge part in Netflix 's current revenue streams.

And it certainly plays a big part in their marketing strategy, as it was one of the focal points of the recent TUDUM event that took place in Brazil.

While the event itself went well enough, and at least gave the fandom a few bits and pieces about the upcoming Season 3 of the series, the official coverage left a lot of people questioning the professionalism of the writers behind it.

The thing is, one of the key actors from Season 2, Simone Ashley, who portrayed Kate Sharma and has been confirmed several times to return for Season 3, was left out of the cast list in the article.

Of course, it could have been a simple mistake, but fans don't seem to think so. In fact, many feel that this is not the first time that Simone Ashley has been mistreated and sidetracked by Netflix, even though her character is clearly a fan favorite and very important to many viewers.

Besides, enough time has passed for the editors to correct their mistake, if they had any intention of doing so.

But since many other actors who have minor roles are still present in the article, and the one name that belongs to the actress who portrays Viscountess Bridgerton is not, it feels like a very personal matter.

This is exactly why fans don't want to take it lightly and are ready to fight such a bad decision.

At this point, the only right thing to do would be to add Simone's name to the list of the actors coming back to season 3, and stating an apology. Whether or not that is what Netflix is going to do, however, is unknown.
