Bridgerton Meets Baby Reindeer In the Most Unexpected Crossover
What does Andrew Garfield have to do with this?
With Baby Reindeer holding a spot at the top of Netflix for weeks, and Bridgerton taking over only to continue the same tradition, it's safe to say that these shows are the streamer's biggest originals of 2024 so far.
What's even better is that Bridgerton season 3 is coming back with part 2 in less than a week, and Baby Reindeer star Jessica Gunning just landed another major role.
How will the two very different universes collide, and what's next for the actress who brought one of the creepiest stalkers to life? Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming adaptation of The Magic Faraway Tree.
The Magic Faraway Tree Cast
Based on the popular children’s series of novels The Faraway Tree, written by Enid Blyton, The Magic Faraway Tree movie is now greenlit for production by Neal Street Productions, Elysian Film Group, and Ashland Hill Media Finance. The film is going to be directed by Ben Gregor, known to viewers by the Britannia TV series.
The movie follows the Thompson family as they are forced to move from the turmoil of the city to the countryside. There the children of the family, Beth, Joe, and Fran, will find the magic tree and get to know all its occupants.
As it was previously reported, Claire Foy and Andrew Garfield will portray the movie’s leads. However, the involvement of the most popular TV and film stars doesn’t end there. Derry Girls and Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan is joining the cast as the woodland fairy Silky and Baby Reindeer’s Jessica Gunning will appear as Dame Washalot.
At the moment there aren't many more details about the movie production and its expected release date. With Bridgerton season 4 reportedly set to begin filming this summer, and Coughlan likely to be involved in the next season as well, the scheduling must still be in the works. Either way, fans are excited to see the most magical story finally hit their screens.
If you are already excited about the adaptation, keep an eye out for more exciting news and behind-the-scenes updates to be the first to know the premiere date. In the meantime, enjoy Claire Foy's The Crown, Jessica Gunning's Baby Reindeer and Nicola Coughlan's Bridgerton on Netflix.
