Books fans can stop holding their breath.

Many fans believe that it's the Bridgerton format that makes the show so appealing to so many viewers. By exploring the love story of a new couple each season, fans get to see new tropes and meet new characters to keep the show as exciting as it was the first time around.

However, with five of the Bridgerton siblings still unmarried and only one more season officially greenlit by Netflix, fans have begun to wonder how the creators will navigate this issue. Showrunner Jess Brownell, who just made her debut with the wildly successful season 3, puts all rumors to rest.

Bridgerton Season 4 Leading Couple

While season 3 left a lot of clues and hints about the potential couple that would take the baton from Colin and his now-wife Penelope Bridgerton, there were still no official statements released to the public. Jess Brownell, the showrunner of the series, who is confirmed to return for season 4, is also not in a hurry to reveal the truth.

What she does offer the fandom, however, is a little comfort in debunking some of the worst theories they've come up with while waiting for the news. Speaking to Variety, Brownell revealed that there won't be any change in show format that everyone feared.

“We’re not combining books for Season 4. We are doing one book for Season 4,” she said.

This means that all the fans who were afraid that the show would combine the love stories of their favorites, Benedict and Eloise, can finally relax. Both siblings are expected to have their stories told in their own seasons and have the viewers' full attention. The only question this update raises is the number of seasons that have been officially greenlit.

On the other hand, it shouldn't be a serious struggle for Shondaland to secure at least two more seasons to tell Benedict, Eloise and Francesca's romantic stories in order. Given the production company's power in the industry and the insane ratings Bridgerton has been garnering for years, Netflix is likely to continue the streak.

If you can't wait for the season 4 leads to be officially announced, be sure to keep an eye out for updates. Until then, you can binge-watch season 3 in its entirety on Netflix.
