Brad Pitt and George Clooney to Join Forces as Assassins This September
Two lone-wolf killers are coming together against their will to fix someone else’s royal screw-up in a thriller that sounds mighty promising.
Let’s admit if folks: we all love the professional a-hole archetype. Mafia, killers, thieves, con artists, and whatnot — as long as they’re charismatic, we’re going to watch the ever-living hell out of movies about them. Hollywood knows it, so this time, they decided to drown us in pure charisma and masculinity as George Clooney and Brad Pitt are about to make their outing as hired killers and charm us once more.
Wolfs Are on the Hunt and They’re Pissed
Jon Watts, the director of Tom Holland ’s Spider-Man movies, is tackling a very different genre this time around. He’s working on a crime thriller called Wolfs, and he has an amazing crew: the movie will be led by Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and Oscar nominee Amy Ryan. The screenplay is written by Jon Watts himself because if you want something done well, you do it yourself.
“It’s a really good movie. I love this guy, Jon Watts. What a director. It’s out there. We just did a screening of it, and the place kind of went batsh*t for it. So, we’re excited about it. We think it’s a really fun, dark — very dark! — nutty film… It feels like an R-rated Ocean’s film,” George Clooney shared with Total Film.
Pitt and Clooney Are a Classic Lookers Duo
Wolfs follows two solo fixers hired for the same case. They are grim professionals of their craft, but they never work with anyone else — so having to deal with another killer is stressful and unpleasant for them both. As seen in the recently revealed teaser trailer, Pitt and Clooney’s killers spend their time in quiet tension as they go about their dark and sinister business.
These two A-listers are an iconic duo of lookers who take any movie they star in up a notch, and Wolfs won’t be their first collaboration: previously, Clooney and Pitt stunned in the Ocean’s movies referenced by the former in his comment for Total Film. We might be expecting a lot from this thriller too early, but based on both Watts and Pitt & Clooney’s previous films, we should be.
Wolfs will hit the theaters on September 20, 2024.
