Bizarre MCU Theory Claims Wanda and Loki (and Others) Are...Infinity Stones

Thanos, also known as the Mad Titan, was the main antagonist of the previous MCU Phase, and as we all remember, his ambition was to “save” the universe by erasing half of all life in it. Six powerful artifacts, Infinity Stones, were the cornerstone (sorry!) of his plan as together, they completed Thanos’s terrifying Infinity Gauntlet.

Why Did the Mad Titan Fail to Destroy the Stones?

Having Snapped half the universe away, Thanos made sure to prevent anyone from reverting his…changes to the world. The Mad Titan destroyed the Infinity Stones so that no one else could use them, and allegedly, it was a brilliant plan. Except that we know their powers didn’t go to waste, either: we saw them in a later installment.

Thanos claimed to have “reduced them to atoms,” and that turned out to be true. In Quantumania, the protagonists encountered tiny quantum beings with Infinity Stones particles for their heads — meaning that while the Stones were, in fact, reduced to atoms, they continued existing and their powers didn’t wane; they just dispersed.

From that movie, we learned that some parts of the Stones continued to exist as standalone anthropomorphic quantum beings. But those folks were absolutely tiny — so where did the rest of the Infinity Stones's power go? One interesting theory suggests that it became one with six MCU characters. Here’s the deal.

Who and How Inherited the Stones’s Powers in the MCU?

According to one fan theory, the true power of the Infinity Stones was transferred to six MCU characters — one for each Stone. While it’s mostly based on the color aesthetic and recent power additions to these characters, it makes quite some sense if you give it a thought: the “coincidences” here are hard to ignore.

Loki ’s color has always been green, and he recently became the keeper of the Multiverse — he is now the Time Stone. Wanda and her magic are red, and she’s known to bend reality to her will — she is the Reality Stone. White Vision is even more straightforward: as he was already connected to it, he is the Mind Stone.

America Chavez, the girl who freely traverses the Multiverse, is the Space Stone, and Adam Warlock is already known to have adopted the Soul Stone in the comic book. Finally, the Power Stone would be anyone holding the Quantum Bands.

The theory suggests that as the Mad Titan destroyed the Infinity Stones, their power had to find new vessels as it was too large to simply disappear. These characters seem like the perfect candidates to have become the “new Infinity Stones” or to have adopted their abilities, and it appears rather logical for them to have done that.

Of course, the theory is more convincing when it comes to the color-matched characters (Loki and the Time Stone’s green; Wanda and the Reality Stone’s red; the Quantum Bands and the Power Stone’s purple; etc.), but it also makes sense in general. Such large energy can’t disappear without a trace but it can find new vessels.
