Bill Hader's Daughter Humiliated Him in Front of Chris Pratt
You don’t want to get acquainted with your favorite fellow A-lister by being set up by your own very devious kid — but Bill Hader realized what was going on too late.
Children are great, and many parents find out that these little angels are quick to absorb anything they learn from their surroundings and the family. It can be quite useful to teach your kids by your own example, but sometimes, this ability of theirs backfires in the most unpredictable ways, putting the parents on the spot.
Bill Hader is a great comedian and actor, and he’s famous for his brilliant sense of humor. His daughters inheriting that doesn’t sound like a bad thing at all, and most likely, Hader himself thought so, too… Until one of them set him up for the most brutally embarrassing first meeting with a Hollywood A-lister ever imaginable.
Bill Hader was eating dinner at a restaurant with his daughters, and everything was going well until Chris Pratt came there, too. After the comedian pointed that out to the kids, they started freaking out of excitement, but that wasn’t all they had in mind: Hader’s eight-year-old developed an insidious plan to embarrass her dad.
The girl convinced Hader that she knew Chris Pratt’s son and began pestering him asking him to go over to the actor and say hi. Obviously, the comedian told his daughter to leave the Guardians of the Galaxy star alone and let him eat in peace, but the eight-year-old was far from done, so she made another attempt later.
“We eat, finish, pay… We’re walking out, and she’s like, ‘Can I please go over and say hi, please?’ So I feel terrible, we walk over there, tap him on the shoulder. [I go,] ‘Hey Chris, sorry, but my daughter knows your son…’ And my daughter goes, ‘I don’t know his son! You wanted to meet Chris Pratt!’” Bill Hader shared on a talk show.
Obviously, Pratt was very confused by whatever was going on: he was sitting there eating, and out of nowhere, there’s a comedian admittedly too embarrassed to bother him at a restaurant by himself so he hides behind his young daughter. As Pratt was wondering what was going on, Hader was mollified.
“I wanted to strangle her, but I was also never more proud of a kid in my life! And I go, ‘Why did you do that?’ And she was like, ‘I don’t know,’ and I was like, ‘You’re going to make me so much money!’ That was a solid burn,” Hader laughed.
Well, embarrassing or not, that was one way to bypass a DNA test entirely: there was no chance this witty girl was not Bill Hader’s child. And proud or not, we believe the comedian began to really watch his mouth around the kids after that incident.
