Now that's a true love story.

The Little Mermaid live-action movie, which premiered just a few days ago, has been a controversial topic since its announcement. Almost every new detail about the movie has been met with negative feedback from fans.

The fans had the same reaction when they realized that the remake of the original cartoon will have a lot of changes in it.

From the movie cutting the iconic song to adding a lot of major plot twists, everything about The Little Mermaid seemed off.

One of the things that the directors changed in the movie was actually the one that we don't think anybody would have predicted because it's pretty great the way it was in the original.

But with the change that was made, the fans now understand that the reasoning behind it actually makes perfect sense.

Yes, for those who have seen the movie, we are talking about the way Ariel and Prince Eric met and fell in love. Their love story seemed more natural and genuine in a remake because it was changed to something more true to life.

Well, of course, as a genre classic, these Disney characters saw each other and fell in love immediately, but there was more to their relationship than just that.

There were actually two major changes. One is that Ariel doesn't remember that she has to kiss Eric to stay human, when she is already in Eric's world, and the other is that Ariel, newly human, isn't found by Eric, but by a sailor and the castle staff.

Also, Eric doesn't really see Ariel as a love interest at the beginning of their story. The romance begins when they share a bond in his map room and during their rendezvous in the marketplace.

With these changes, the movie provides new scenarios and a more developed backstory for Eric to strengthen their connection.

It actually made us believe that the movie kind of love is possible in our real lives. So thank you, Disney, for that!
