Season 7 actually has one of the best examples of a guest star making an episode a huge success. The Convention Conundrum tells the story of Sheldon and the gang failing to buy tickets to Comic-Con.
Sheldon then decides to create his own convention, but still fails because everyone he invites turns him down. But he gets lucky when he runs into the one and only James Earl Jones at his favorite restaurant.
Although it seems at first that the famous actor does not want to be bothered, the two of them eventually bond over their love of Star Wars and embark on an extraordinary adventure.
It would have been funny enough if Sheldon had simply had dinner with Jones and then gone back to his plans of recruiting more stars for his own exclusive convention. But instead, he manages to spend the entire evening with the popular icon.
And fans seem to really enjoy that unexpectedly formed tandem.
