It’s about time Prime Video’s epic animated TV show teased its new series.

Save for a couple of unfortunate attempts (yes, Rings of Power, we’re looking at you), Prime Video has really been on a streak of great adaptations in the 2020s so far. Apart from the more mainstream examples of that, the streamer released an animated TV show based on an iconic tabletop game franchise which, in many fans’ eyes, is the best adaptation of said game’s universe to date.

Misfit Adventurers to Return Later in 2024

Created by Critical Role, The Legend of Vox Machina is an epic animated series based on Dungeons & Dragons. It’s often dubbed as the best D&D adaptation out there even despite Honor Among Thieves’ existence. Like the latter (and most D&D campaigns, really), Vox Machina follows a group of misfit adventurers who are dragged into the whole “saving the world” business right from their favorite tavern.

First in The Washington Post article and then on Critical Role CEO Travis Willingham’s X account, the confirmations of Season 3 suddenly appeared. The WaPo statement reads that “the show’s third season <...> will be released in the fall,” and Willingham promises that it’s going to be “so good.”

Vox Machina Is Overwhelmingly Popular

Despite being seemingly niche, The Legend of Vox Machina became an instant hit. From raising the funds for Season 1’s creation in no time to gathering a positively disproportionately huge audience to being the critics’ sweetheart, this animated series launched Critical Role into stardom immediately, and deservedly so.

On Rotten Tomatoes, both Vox Machina Seasons 1 & 2 boast the perfect 100% Critic Scores and 93 and 97% Audience Scores, respectively. Over on IMDb, Critical Role’s sensational debut received a spectacular 8.4/10 score — so it’s safe to say that The Legend of Vox Machina is an overwhelming and shameless success.

The recently announced Season 3 will see the band of misfits continue in their quest to stop the Chroma Conclave dragons. As mentioned before, the new series will premiere in fall 2024, so stay tuned for more updates and prepare for more mayhem!
