Backstage Beef Makes Cameron Diaz Quit Acting Again
The new project could revive the actress' acting career, but the on-set drama only made her more certain that the decision to leave was the right one.
With four Golden Globe nominations to her name, Cameron Diaz is a huge star, a sex symbol, and one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood history.
The actress had already retired from acting and claimed that she would never return. However, it was recently announced that the star will appear in a new Netflix project.
It seemed that this is would be a triumphant return, but apparently another acting experience only convinced the actress not to return to Hollywood.
In 2000, Charlie's Angels conquered the world and made Diaz a superstar. In 2010, Forbes magazine named her one of the richest female celebrities, placing her 60th in the ranking.
But in the 2010s, Diaz appeared in unsuccessful projects and could not withstand the negative reaction of critics.
Her latest role in 2014's Annie, in which she played an abusive orphanage worker, was panned, noting that Diaz went too far with her vamp image and was "too obnoxious."
She was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award for this role. It was after the release of Annie that Cameron Diaz seemed offended by the industry and announced that she was taking a break from her acting career, and in March 2017, she even announced that she was leaving the movies for good.
Recently, however, Diaz has apparently had a change of heart, as she was spotted on the set of the new Netflix project Back in Action, from Horrible Bosses creator Seth Gordon.
Fans of the actress have already managed to rejoice at the appearance of the actress in the movies after a long break, but apparently the shooting is taking place in a tense atmosphere.
On the set there was a big conflict with the participation of Jamie Foxx, who persuaded Cameron to return to acting. As a result, three people were fired.
After that, it was announced that the actress would not be taking part in any more projects after Back in Action is completed, as she does not like the drama that often takes place on the sets of Hollywood movies, and also wants to focus more on her family.
And what upsets the fans of the actress is that it looks like this time Diaz is leaving acting for good. However, many viewers are glad that they will be able to see her in at least one new movie.
Back in Action will be released in 2024.
