For every fan of Supernatural to find out about the prequel was the best news – "Carry on my wayward son."

But now that we not only know the setting and characters but also where the new storyline is leading us, how are we supposed to ignore the glaring plot inconsistencies The Winchesters leave us with?

The Twitter user yourrainbowboy posted all the major plot points John and Mary went through on Supernatural so that we once again can see how the new show doesn't fit canon at all.

The Supernatural Easter Egg in The Winchesters Only True Fans Spotted

Mary and John were brought up very differently from one another, yet quite formative. And the story arc their characters had was the backbone of the entire show. Mary comes from a hunter's family and was raised as a hunter, which later on plays the biggest role in Supernatural since Mary doesn't want her kids to be raised the way she was and makes sure that nothing reminds her of her previous life. And John, as we learn with the seasons' progression, is the son of the man of letters Henry Winchester, but John doesn't know the supernatural world exists since his father goes into the future and is killed by Abaddon in 2013. John grows up to be a mechanic whose father, as he thinks, abandoned him. As John grows up, the most important thing for him is family.

The Winchesters' Never-Before-Seen Monster Changes Supernatural Lore

From Supernatural, we also learn how and when John and Mary met. As it's described in one of the tweets, "On March 23, 1973[,] Mary went to the cinema […] and at the exit[,] she hit a Marine. The girl was embarrassed, and the young man laughed and said that she owed him a cup of coffee. They went to Mulroney's cafe, and it turned out that was John Winchester."

This Twitter user also reminds us that "On May 2, 1973, [Mary's] parents and [John] were killed by Azazel, and to [bring] John [back to life], she made a deal allowing the yellow-eyed to come to her house ten years later." And that is where we kick off the original series. Mary gets killed by that same yellow-eyed daemon, and this is what drives John to learn about the supernatural world and start hunting, making Mary's fear of raising their sons as hunters come true.

A Heartbreaking Mary Detail in The Winchesters Everyone is Sobbing Over

And The Winchesters, now airing, shows us Mary and John meeting, casually dragging John into the supernatural world without him even flinching, which is immediately followed by them facing the biggest threat in the SPN ever, and we've not only unprepared for such a rewriting of history, but we've never heard of this supposed thread ever before. And the fans are now asking themselves – "where is the canon?"
