Arcane Season 2 Teaser Only Needed 10 Seconds to Break Fans' Hearts
Imagine what an entire new season will do to us.
Summary:
Arcane has become a true hit for Netflix, drawing even the audiences who never played League of Legends — the videogame on which the series is based.
It's been two years without a single update on the second season, but Netflix Geeked week has finally changed it.
When Will Arcane Season 2 Premiere?
Netflix has confirmed that the second season of Arcane will be released in November 2024, even though it avoided scheduling an exact premiere date.
The network has also released a short clip teasing the release window, in which Jinx can be seen walking slowly on the bridge (apparently, the one connecting Zaun and Piltover), while the surroundings are bathing in red light.
Arcane Season 2 Teaser Is Already Heartbreaking
How can a 10-second teaser break your heart? Easy. Look at Jinx's shadow.
While the two silhouettes seem very similar, a closer look allows us to see that the shadow is in fact not Jinx, but her estranged sister Vi. While Jinx is carrying her favorite gun, her shadow has a different weapon that looks a lot like Hextech gauntlets that Vi started to use in the end of season 1.
Redditors have already come up with possible explanations.
"It could mean one of two things - Jinx is forever in Vi's shadow, which symbolizes Jinx's motivation to go to war, or Vi's shadow is what will stalk her, because Vi will be force to chase her sister of all people," Redditor Diligent-Pepper-7787 explained.
The connection between Jinx and Vi will certainly become one of the main topics in the upcoming season. The two didn't exactly make peace with each other at the end of season 1. Jinx decided not to kill Vi, but the sisters are clearly still enemies; after all, Jinx has nuked Piltover's Council!
Besides, Jinx is still clearly mad at Vi for her bond with Caitlyn, who is an enforcer at Piltover. For Jinx, there is no such thing as a good enforcer, so she believes her sister is in cahoots with an enemy; for Vi, it's a heartbreaking choice between her only sister and another person she cares about.
Well, we have a whole year to wait and see what Arcane season 2 has in store for us. Meanwhile, you can binge the first season on Netflix.
