Arcane Finale: What Happened to Jayce and Viktor & Is Jinx Actually Alive?

On November 23rd, Season 2 of Arcane ended on Netflix. But viewers still have a lot of questions. We will try to clarify the results of the main storylines.

Did Jinx Survive?

The creators of the series did not confirm or deny the death of Jinx. But there are several indications that the main psychopath of the show remained alive. First of all, neither the death itself nor Jinx's body was shown, which gives the writers room to maneuver.

In the series finale, we see Caitlyn studying the Hexgate's ventilation system and smiling mysteriously. Given Jinx's speed, she could have easily left the danger zone through the ventilation shaft.

Just before the credits roll, we see the last hint that Jinx is alive – an airship flying away. At the beginning of the first season, Powder said that one day she would fly on one of those things.

Therefore, after escaping from the Hexgate, Jinx could have left the city on an airship. Especially since we see the character's signature stylized interference at the end of the scene.

How Did Jayce Manage to Stop Evolution?

In Episode 9, we learned the identity of the sorcerer who saved young Jayce. It turned out to be Viktor from the future, who saw the result of evolution and wanted to stop himself in the past. To do this, he appeared to Jayce in many different realities, each time giving him a rune and pushing him to create a hextech.

As a result, Jayce of the series universe was able to not only subdue the arcane, but also see the consequences of its abuse.

Jayce's mission is to save Viktor from his past self. That is why he attacks him in Episode 6 and continues to argue with him in Act 3.

In the end, Viktor sees his dark future and abandons the idea of the great evolution. Using the rune that bound their destinies together, the two eject themselves from Piltover, but where exactly they ended up is unknown.

What Happened to Viktor, Jayce and Heimerdinger?

In Act 3, several characters disappeared after interacting with the Arcane. Heimerdinger disappeared after the teleporter was launched, and Viktor and Jayce disappeared after the evolution was aborted. But did they really die? As with Jinx, there is no clear answer, so let's turn to the League of Legends lore.

Heimerdinger is a member of the Yordles race. And while they look like humanoid animals, they are spirits first and foremost. Immortal ones, if you believe the canonical story The Meaning in Misery.

So there is a good chance that Heimerdinger is alive and has been reborn in Bandle City – the city of the Yordles.

The same goes for Jayce and Viktor. After disappearing, they could have ended up in another world or transformed. In the lore of the game, there is a concept of "ascension" – a process by which a living being becomes a god under the influence of magic. It is possible that such important characters as Viktor and Jayce are destined for a similar fate.
