'Ant Man 3' First Trailer is Not Coming Out for a While
'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' is one of the most anticipated upcoming Marvel releases, but if you haven't got the chance to join D23 this year, it might be a while before you'll get your hands on that trailer.
Marvel's one and only Kevin Feige shared the unexpected news, saying that 'Ant Man 3' trailer is "not coming out [publicly] for a while..." – something that triggered a lot of fan outrage.
The anger was fueled by the fact that the trailer had already been released at the D23 Expo earlier. Now some pissed off fans are saying that Marvel can afford things like not releasing the trailer for the general public because the studio execs know that even without trailers, the audience will watch anything Marvel puts out. Some people even think that Marvel should stop releasing trailers altogether and find another way to promote their movies. Actually, going to the cinema without knowing anything about the film you're about to watch is much more exciting than going with some expectations – at least according to some MCU fans.
Many viewers actually supported this idea, complaining that movie trailers nowadays have become too detailed – after watching, one might end up learning the entire plot. Apparently, it's time for studios to re-think their promotional strategies.
However, some fans are more optimistic and think that the 'Ant Man 3' trailer will be released in mid-October, considering the fact that Marvel movies usually come out four or five months after the first trailer's release. Since the movie's filming was completed in November of last year, there is no reason for the studio to delay the promo campaign until after October.
The record holder for the shortest time between the first trailer release and the theatrical release is currently 'Thor: Love and Thunder ', which came out just 88 days after debuting its first trailer.
It should be mentioned that people who were lucky enough to watch the trailer were pleased with what they saw. D23 trailer confirmed Randall Park's return as Jimmy Woo, and also revealed how Team Ant-Man ended up in the Quantum Realm.
One of the main questions after watching the trailer was whether Kang is actually going to kill Scott Lang. Judging by the trailer, there are enough reasons to worry not just for Scott, but also for other important characters.
'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' is set to premiere Feb. 17, 2023.
