The late nineties and early noughties were THE time for teen dramas and comedies. New ones were coming out each month, and many became classics. Gil Junger's 10 Things I Hate About You stands out among the rest.

The film attained critical and commercial success. It merged Shakespearean elements with some 90's teen humor and created something special.

The young talent in the movie themselves went on to enjoy prolific careers in Hollywood. These include, but are not limited to, Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. One name which many won't remember is Andrew Keegan. He was prominent in teen circles but faded away at the turn of the century. However, he didn't give up on acting. Here's what he was up to.

After the success of 10 Things I Hate About You, Andrew didn't just idle around. He continued his career as an actor and tried his hand at various roles. He played a supporting role as Kevin in Greg Berlanti's The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy in 2000. In 2001, Keegan reunited with Julia Stiles once again in Tim Blake Nelson's O, inspired by Shakespeare.

He was still active beyond that, although none of his future projects were as popular as his role as Joey Donner. He did play a recurring role as Wilson West in the spiritual drama 7th Heaven. He acted alongside Jessica Biel, who played Mary Camden, Wilson's love interest. However, his last appearance was way back in 2002.

According to his IMDb profile, he is also credited with guest-starring roles on multiple TV shows over the decade. He was involved in House, CSI: NY, and Netflix 's teen drama, Trinkets. Unfortunately, the pandemic in 2020 froze his career, and he took a break. He spoke in an interview with E! News in 2020 and expressed an interest in returning to the field.

"That's the plan ... getting back to work after this COVID thing. It is going to be an interesting experience. I'm very much looking forward to it."

Unfortunately, such a vibrant young star is lost amidst the shuffle. While his co-stars went on to have stellar careers, Keegan basically disappeared. Apart from a few roles, he has been rather inactive. This is surprising since he was one of the up-and-comers who had the potential to become the biggest stars of the 2000s.

Regardless of how things turned out, we wish Keegan all the best. We hope he finds joy in his upcoming roles and receives the credit he deserves. He was excited about returning to acting, and we are too.
