And Just Like That S2 May Finally Do Justice to Carrie's Best Boyfriend
With the second season of And Just Like That around the corner, many viewers have been wondering if Carrie Bradshaw and Aidan Shaw will stay together.
According to showrunner Michael Patrick King, Aidan and Carrie do have a future, but fans have yet to find out exactly what it is.
King hinted at the couple's reunion in an interview with the New York Times: "I didn't bring Aidan back to fail."
Both John Corbett and Sarah Jessica Parker have confirmed that Carrie and Aidan's relationship has changed from what it was before.
According to the actors, now Aidan really listens to Carrie, not as insistent as before, and there is much more warmth between them.
In Sex and the City, Carrie and Aidan had a long romance that ended in a painful breakup. In the sixth season, they meet again, Carrie learns that Aidan has married and become a father, and they part on friendly terms.
In the movie Sex and the City 2, the characters meet by chance in Abu Dhabi and even kiss, but their relationship does not develop further.
And now, in the video from the filming of And Just Like That, Carrie and Aidan are laughing and spending time together.
The actors were walking arm-in-arm and shopping together what made viewers suspect that the creators of And Just Like That would bring Carrie and Aidan back together.
Some fans have been rooting for the couple since Sex and the City and would like to see their story continue. Many fans think Aidan is a more reliable man than Mr. Big and prone to a serious, healthy relationship.
However, the couple's adversaries reminded that they had different approaches to life.
Aidan strove for peace, dreamed of living outside the city, and opposed smoking in every way, while Carrie loved social life, and her love of cigarettes became one of the main features of the character.
In addition, Carrie cheated on Aidan with Mr. Big and undermined his confidence in herself and the audience still believes that she does not deserve Aidan.
The second season of And Just Like That starts streaming at 3 a.m. ET/midnight PT on June 22.
