Anatomy of a Fall’s Good Boy Is Getting His Own TV Show At Cannes
The Oscar-winning movie made the right actor famous.
Summary:
- One of last year’s biggest hits, Anatomy of a Fall captured everyone’s attention — and the movie’s compelling plot isn’t really the main reason.
- The film starring Sandra Hüller also featured a dog actor called Messi whose dramatical performance won him several awards back in 2023.
- The dog’s career seems to have only started after Anatomy of a Fall as Messi is heading once again for the Cannes Film Festival with a new show.
Justine Triet’s Anatomy of a Fall that blew everyone away at the latest awards season is a dazzling mix of drama and crime thriller, but it’s the movie’s cutest actor that is probably one of the biggest reasons for such an immense success.
A French Border Collie called Messi proved to be a real dog star after his stunning and very dramatical performance — and it seems like Messi’s career is about to skyrocket again.
In Anatomy of a Fall, Messi played Snoop, Sandra and Vincent’s dog that they got for their visually impaired son Daniel’s guidance. The dog actor was trained for his big poisoning scene in the movie for two months and eventually his performance didn't go unnoticed — Messi (or rather his owner) took home several awards, including Palm Dog Award from the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
The good news for Messi’s fans is that this year the famous dog is making his come-back to the upcoming festival and is bringing in a completely new show.
As the production company D18 Paris announced, the dog actor will once again melt everyone’s hearts with Messi: The Cannes Film Festival from a Dog’s Eye View, a series of eight one-minute episodes that will show the worldwide famous festival from Messi’s perspective.
According to the reports, the program will become “an opportunity for Messi to ask his guest any questions with the innocence of a dog” thus making him some kind of “the canine George Clooney ”.
Messi’s TV debut will be broadcast on major French channels simultaneously with the festival starting from May 13 until the very end of the cinema’s biggest event on May 25.
