AMC's Robert Redford and George R.R. Martin Produced Series Gets A Trailer And A Release Date
AMC's latest western noir series 'Dark Winds' is finally ready to hit our home screens this June.
The upcoming series is based on the iconic 'Leaphorn and Chee' book series written by Tony Hillerman. 'Dark Winds ' centers on a Navajo police officer desperately trying to solve a double murder as he surveys the staggering masses of desert land.
Leaphorn will be played by 'Fargo ' and 'Westworld ' alum Zahn McClarnon, with strong supportive turns by 'Americans' Noah Emmerich and 'The Office ' Rian Wilson embodying a mysterious figure known as Devoted Dan.
Series is produced by legendary actor Robert Redford and 'Game of Thrones ' creator George R.R. Martin, who is, apparently, quite a devoted fan of Hillerman's original novels. Such a star power coming together to bring 'Dark Winds' to life is great news for AMC, which will probably help them score its next big post-'Better Call Saul ' hit.
The recently released trailer promises a bleak look at the modern Western frontier with a pinch of Scandi noir thrown in.
Fans are happy to see their favorite novels receiving a TV treatment, but some are still questioning how it will play out.
'Dark Winds' premiers on AMC and AMC+ June 12, 2022.
