Amanda Seyfried Missed Out On This $700M Marvel Film For The Wildest Reason

It's hard to imagine Guardians Of The Galaxy with a different cast today.
We all grew to love Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillan as Nebula, and of course Zoe Saldaña as Gamora, whose performance absolutely stunned fans in the Avengers finale as well as in her own movies.
However, things could have been very different if the original choice for Gamora hadn't turned down the role.
Amanda Seyfried is best known to audiences for her performances in Mamma Mia, Les Miserables, and the all-time classic Mean Girls.
In her career, she has never crossed paths with a superhero movie, but she had one of the biggest opportunities out there.
The role of Gamora would have probably given her acting career another, even more global spin, but she turned it down for a reason many would not believe.
"I'm not really a Marvel movie watcher, which is, I think, why I was just like, 'Ah, I don't wanna be green. It's just so much work. You get to set and you're only there for a couple hours, and then you have to take everything off. And that was literally the reason," The actress said to ComicBook.com.
According to Seyfried, she found out how hard the makeup process was for Jennifer Lawrence in X-Men, where she had to be covered in blue paint.
This was a complete turn-off for her, especially on top of the fact that the actress does not feel comfortable doing stunts.
As she once revealed on Late Night with Seth Meyers, some scenes involving wire work were so agonizing that the actress never returned for such roles.
Amanda Seyfried's decision to pass on the role of Gamora allowed us to see an amazing performance from Zoe Saldaña.
Fortunately, her own career has not suffered at all: the actress continues to be cast in top Hollywood projects and works in a comfortable environment.
