All The Reasons Why Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer Is Worth Your Attention
Get your tickets while you can!
Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few months, you know that there are two upcoming movies that have been making a lot of noise on the internet.
Both Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan, and Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig, are set to premiere on July 21, 2023, and both movies are 100% worth seeing.
So mark your calendars, get your tickets, and get ready for the experience of a lifetime that these two movies already promise to be.
It's understandable if you prefer more light-hearted movies, but don't rush to skip Oppenheimer just yet.
Even though it's going to be pretty dark, considering the fact that the movie is about Robert Oppenheimer, an American theoretical physicist who is considered to be the "father of the atomic bomb", you still don't want to miss such a brilliant cast full of Hollywood A-listers.
Cillian Murphy will star as Oppenheimer himself, with Robert Downey Jr, Florence Pugh, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, and many more making appearances throughout the 3-hour runtime.
Yes, Oppenheimer will be the longest of Christopher Nolan's works to date, clocking in at exactly 3 hours, so it's not surprising that the IMAX prints of it are 11 miles of film stock weighing around 600 pounds.
Besides being the longest, the movie also marks Nolan's first comeback to R-rated films in more than 20 years.
His last film with enough language, violence, and nudity to warrant such a rating was 2002's Insomnia. So be prepared to see some scenes with more sensitive content and consider another date for the family outing.
While there are still a few months to go before Oppenheimer's big theatrical release, you can already buy tickets for the premiere.
Until then, consider joining the Christopher Nolan retrospective and streaming some of the director's greatest films like Inception or Interstellar on Netflix or MAX.
