Alice in Borderland: 5 Most Jaw-Dropping Deaths in Netflix Hit Series
Even before Squid Game, Netflix had already released another series about deadly games, which did not hesitate to kill even fans' favorite characters.
Alice in Borderland tells the story about a group of friends from Tokyo, who found out that the city was abandoned. Soon they enter the arena – they have to participate in dangerous games where the losers are executed.
There are a lot of minor characters in the series that the viewers like, but the writers are not afraid to kill off even the favorites. Some of them sacrifice their lives for the others, which makes their deaths even more dramatic and unexpected.
5. Asahi Kujo
Asahi appeared on screen from time to time, but she looked more like a regular player than a character with a shocking secret. Viewers probably weren't expecting such a sudden twist: Asahi admitted that she was the dealer in charge of organizing the games.
The laser kills her immediately after the revelation. The fact that she tried to justify her friend and save the rest of the participants is truly admirable. Asahi's death is especially hard to take because she tried to save the others at the cost of her own life.
4. Aguni Morizono
The viewers would not care for Aguni's death had he not gone from villain to hero.
He breaks down in a round of Witch Hunt out of guilt over killing a friend. It is hard to justify all of his actions, but the audience was definitely shocked by how Aguni heroically sacrificed himself to save Arisu.
3. Chota Segawa
Segawa was kind and loving, but also very trusting and emotional. His main and most important trait was revealed during the game of hide-and-seek.
He was brave when the lives of his friends were at stake. He sacrificed himself and supported Shibuki by waiting for time to run out. It's a heartbreaking scene that shows his devotion and love for his friends.
2. Kodai Tatta
Tatta was asked to defend the base but he failed. Frightened by the King of Clubs, he was unable to repel the attack on the base, and the team lost points.
Tatta felt terrible and didn't want to let the team down. He cut off his hand and gave it to Arisu to steal the points from the King of Clubs. His team won, but Tatta himself bled to death.
1. Daikichi Karube
Karube showed his bravery in a game of hide-and-seek, where he risked his life to defeat the masked gunman.
He wanted to win in the game of hide-and-seek to survive the competition, return to his partner, and finally to propose marriage. In the end, his devotion and love for Arisu grew stronger, and fans won't soon forget how he sat quietly and reminded his best friend to win games for him.
