Alan Rickman Pranked Daniel Radcliffe on Harry Potter Set in The Least Snape Way Possible
Fans have long known that the atmosphere on the set of Harry Potter was as friendly and fun as it gets.
Pranks also were part of the entertainment, and Daniel Radcliffe revealed his favorite one.
When making movies with so many children and teenagers involved, it would be strange to expect that the atmosphere on set would be serious and focused only on working.
However, we bet fans weren't expecting who Daniel Radcliffe thinks is the main jokester and prankster.
During a Reddit AMA several years ago, Daniel was asked what was the best prank he got to pull while filming the franchise.
Daniel admitted that the best one was played on him and the performer was the most unexpected – Alan Rickman. In the third movie the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, there is a scene where the students are lying in sleeping bags in a huge hall.
The camera had to slowly zoom in on Harry's face until it stopped an inch away from him. And these were the best circumstances for a joke, Alan Rickman decided.
He had previously placed a fart machine in Daniel's sleeping bag, which went off just as the camera zoomed in on the actor.
Daniel's first thought was a very logical one: "This is one of the other kids f****** around, and we were going to get in trouble," the actor assumed.
But sometimes surprises come from places you least expect.
More amusingly, Alfonso Cuarón, the director of the third film, revealed that Daniel asked to put his sleeping bag next to that of the girl he fancied. So the prank can be considered just perfect.
Most of the images of Alan Rickman in the movies were dark and sinister, but his friends and colleagues on the set often called him funny and cheerful in their descriptions of this great actor.
It's really hard to believe, because it's almost impossible to imagine everyone's favorite Professor Severus Snape smiling, let alone laughing. In fact, Alan loved a good joke, and this prank is an iron proof of that.
