Not only did it bring new details about another galaxy, it practically rewrote the history of an entire species.

Episode 6 of the Ahsoka TV series took a much-anticipated turn, eventually taking us to another galaxy and providing some big reveals along the way.

After traveling to the planet Peridea, Morgan Elsbeth, Baylan Skoll, and Shin Hati finally find Grand Admiral Thrawn, while Sabine Wren is reunited with Ezra Bridger.

However, a considerable amount of Star Wars lore was also retconned, including almost the entire history of the planet Dathomir and its inhabitants.

First of all, it seems that the existence of the other galaxy in general and Peridea in particular was known to the people of the galaxy far, far away, although they believed it to be a myth.

However, it is now revealed that the Dathomiri (Nightsisters and Nightbrothers) actually originated on Peridea, using Purrgil, the "star whales" who migrated to the planet as its orbit served as a graveyard for their old, to travel across the stars.

They left Peridea and, after arriving in another galaxy, colonized the planet that would later become known as Dathomir, though the reason why they left their homeworld hasn't been revealed.

Some of them remained on the planet, and this is how Morgan Elsbeth knew where to find Thrawn when the Nightsisters of Peridea contacted her using their magic and then greeted Elsbeth and others upon their arrival.

Not only has Peridea never been mentioned in the Star Wars, but before Ahsoka, it was stated several times that Dathomir was the homeworld of the Dathomiri, as even their species is named after it.

When the planet was depicted in various Star Wars media, most notably the animated series The Clone Wars and the video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order video game, it was covered in some rather ancient-looking structures, with no indication that it was actually a colony.

This sudden reveal is a huge deal for Star Wars lore, as the Dathomiri are now one of the few known extragalactic species in the franchise.

Moreover, we may even get the answer to why they left their home world, as according to Baylan Skoll's comment, the remaining Nightsisters seem too eager to leave the planet, as if they are afraid of something.

Episode 7 of Ahsoka will premiere on September 26, 2023.
