After Black Adam Disappointment, Snyder Needs to Be Brought Back to Save DCEU
…At least according to fans, who made their demand to bring back the Justice League director trending on social media.
Amid mixed reactions to the newly released Black Adam movie, Zack Snyder fans turned to Twitter to demand the continuation of the SnyderVerse with a trending hashtag #BringBackZackSnyder.
Black Adam has become the 11th film in The DC Extended Universe and brought an exciting actor – Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson – to play an exciting comics character – Black Adam. Unfortunately, the movie directed by Jaume Collet-Serra didn't live up to the hype for many fans, according to their comments and reactions. Besides, not all DC fans are on board with the "new era" for DCEU the film marked, which made them turn to Twitter and ask to restore the SnyderVerse.
Fans are worried that DC hasn't been the same since Zack Snyder left it back in 2017 after he got tired of fighting with the studio over Justice League. Many believe that Snyder's Justice League was a global phenomenon and the best thing happening to DC in years. Fans also remembered that Zack Snyder initially had a vision for the 5-film arc, and the majority agree that the director deserves a chance to complete the vision he invested 10 years into. More than that, DC fans are sure this would help DCEU to go back to where it was in its glory.
"I'm just waiting for those epic, in-scale, mythological take, philosophical-based comic book films to return. Unparalleled visuals, astonishing soundtrack, groundbreaking action, and rich complex plots. And we know who is the man for that job," Twitter user juppiix wrote.
But is what fans are asking for at all possible? Unfortunately, it was already confirmed several times that the return of the director is very unlikely. Furthermore, DC executive Jim Lee said at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, that there was no plan to restore the SnyderVerse.
Then again, nothing has been concrete or guaranteed for the past decade in DCEU. They change their minds and their direction quite often. With recent major leadership changes for Warner Bros., the SnyderVerse could still return in one way or another. Especially when fans are making so much noise about it.
The question remains of how they would go about the new era Black Adam started if they brought back Zack Snyder. But the fans can only hope there is a way. After all, people would say, "it's never going to happen" about releasing the Snyder cut. And, well, we know how that turned out.
