After 'Better Call Saul' Finale, Here's Where You Get to See Bob Odenkirk Next
With 'Better Call Saul' finale approaching, it looks like the days of our favorite sneaky lawyer are coming to an end. So, what's next for Bob Odenkirk?
Actor and comedian kept his schedule pretty busy this past couple of years, starring in feature films ('Nobody', 'Little Women'), TV series ('Saul', but also Amazon's 'Undone') and voicing animated characters ('Chicago Party Aunt'). But it looks like he took a big hit to his health due to overworking himself too much. After suffering a heart attack while filming Season 6 of 'Better Call Saul ', the actor decided to ease up on his schedule a bit.
Odenkirk only has one project planned at the moment – but it's a new series, so don't feel bad! AMC has ordered a new drama series, 'Straight Man', in which Odenkirk will play the chairman of the English department at the crumbling Rust Belt College. The series is based on Richard Russo's eponymous 1997 novel. The book was described as "hilarious and true-to-life, witty, compassionate, and impossible to put down" (official synopsis from Vintage publishing house), so Odenkirk should be just perfect in this role.
Odenkirk was recently awarded his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, so there are many more great events ahead of him. Even actors have to rest from time to time.
Final season of 'Better Call Saul' is currently airing on AMC with the second half of the season premiering on July 11, 2022.
