Aemond Has Now Become the Most Hated Targaryen Since Game of Thrones

Even though the first season of Game of Thrones aired in 2011, fans' emotions and thoughts about it are just as strong as they were all those years ago. The HBO fantasy production shocked viewers with the quality of its acting and writing, and secured a long journey into the world of Westeros.

From the first episode, it was pretty obvious which characters viewers were going to love and which ones they were going to hate. Although there were some twists and turns along the way, the Targaryen family was established from the beginning. The fans loved Daenerys right away and had a lot of resentment towards her brother Viserys.

What Happened to Viserys Targaryen in Game of Thrones?

The young heir to the Iron Throne was a child at the time of Robert Baratheon's rebellion and spent the next 17 years hiding in the Free Cities across the Narrow Sea. His mother died in childbirth, leaving him to raise his sister Daenerys on his own, dreaming of forming a strong alliance and reclaiming his title.

Unfortunately, his lack of patience and arrogance played a cruel joke on him, and he ended up dead after refusing to respect Khal Drogo and his new Khaleesi. The audience cheered when he was killed, happy to never see him abuse Daenerys again.

For years, Game of Thrones' Viserys was the most hated Targaryen on television, and even the first season of House of the Dragon didn't change that. While Daemon Targaryen, for example, was always far more ruthless and murderous, and Aegon acted like a complete fool, they were both far more established and in the gray area of morality.

It was only in season 2 that viewers finally decided on their least favorite Targaryen of all time, and right now that is Aemond. Somehow even more dangerous than his own seasoned uncle, he's already murdered his cousin Lucerys Velaryon, seriously injured his own brother Aegon, and ended the life of Rhaenys. It is a list long enough to enrage both teams.

While those fans of Team Green who have come to sympathize with Aegon now find themselves cursing Aemond for not being more careful, Team Black adds another one of their valuable allies to his body count. However, the war has only just begun, so fans' opinions may change with each turn of events.
