Rarely does a sequel come out better than the first movie, but the creators of Sony's animated movie certainly succeeded.

The new part is even more colorful and exciting, but the ending made it clear that the film was divided into several chapters. Now fans are left to guess how the adventures of Miles Morales will turn out. And recently, Reddit came up with another intriguing theory.

User philip7499 brought an idea about the latest Spider-Man animated movie. Miguel O' Hara (aka Spider-Man 2099) tells Miles if he violates a canon (like saving Uncle Ben), it will destroy universe after universe and eventually lead to the extinction of all life.

The other Spider-People sympathize with young Morales, but play Miguel's game to keep the world from being destroyed.

The fan doesn't want to say again that Miles is right and Spider-2099 is wrong, but if the lack of canon doesn't destroy universes after all, then what leads to Armageddon? So here's the theory:

The Redditor thinks the main problem is the watch which allows Spideys to travel across universes. In the first installment, each of the superheroes experienced glitches as they moved from one dimension to another.

In the second part, viewers saw Miguel testing the first prototype of the watch and not being sure if it would work. However, there were no further experiments. The webslingers just started using it.

The fan is convinced that the watch does not protect travelers in dimensions, but reflects or synchronizes those disturbances with the entire universe, thus destroying it. The movie shows that the team of Spiders works fine until there are too many of them.

This means canonical events change when there are extra webslingers around, and additional Spider-People appear in the same dimension precisely because of the watch. The device creates the correlation, but is not the cause of the canon violation or the destruction of the universe.

Miguel is so grief-stricken, so he believes the entire world is conspiring against the insect-superheroes and trying to destroy them. However, according to fans, Spider-Man 2099 simply made another mistake.

The sequel will be released in March 2024. The final installment is supposed to answer the questions that have started to pile up.
