A Solution To All Bridgerton Issues? Combine Eloise And Benedict's Stories
It’s better to get half a season each than nothing at all.
Dearest reader, it's fair to say that at this point both Netflix and Shonda Rhimes are keeping Bridgeton fans on the verge of mass hysteria with their silence.
As no official information about the release date of season 3, no denials or confirmations of the numerous rumors floating around the web, and no new promotional material have emerged since the summer, viewers are left completely in the dark.
To say that the fandom is not taking the stress and anxiety well would be an understatement. Every day, people come up with different theories to explain the situation they found themselves in, and while some of them are quite entertaining and make for good reading, others paint a far worse outlook for the show as a whole.
Shonda Rhimes' original plan to create a show that would cover one book per season, while still just as fun in theory, doesn't seem so realistic after all the difficulties the show has already faced. Unfortunately, it is widely believed that viewers would be lucky to get 5 seasons. Goodbye Hyacinth, Francesca, and Gregory!
What can still be saved are the stories of the Benedict and Eloise Bridgertons, who were supposed to follow Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington. Though the order Shonda Rhimes would have chosen for them has always been a point of discussion, it may end up being pointless overall.
Since the fans are not willing to sacrifice one of them, it might be a wise choice to combine them into one.
Is that an ideal situation? Not at all. Is this a chance to tell a different story and give the Bridgerton universe a chance to survive longer? Yes, it is. So maybe the unfairness of such a decision would be outweighed by all the benefits it would bring.
For example, with a season length slightly adjusted to 10 episodes, and the side characters pushed further into the background, the majority of viewers believe that the season would still meet their expectations and bring closure to stories that have already begun to be explored.
Whether you think this is a solid solution or an idea that would further drown the series, you probably share the eagerness to finally see season 3 of the show. Keep an eye out for more news and behind-the-scenes updates. Until then, you can binge-watch Daphne and Anthony's respective seasons on Netflix.
