Amazon Prime shouldn’t expect riots to stop anytime soon.

With the success of Amazon Prime's two recent premieres, the second season of Good Omens and the movie Red, White & Royal Blue, based on the novel of the same name, it wasn't expected that the network would start canceling its existing shows. Especially those that have already been confirmed for next season.

A League Of Their Own fans believe that Amazon Prime's move to cancel the show is not only commercially wrong but downright misogynistic.

With the network profiting heavily from two LGBTQA+ properties starring male actors, the decision to cancel a production that explores the same subject from a female perspective doesn't sit well with the internet. Amazon's official explanation that the cancellation was due to strikes doesn't ring true either.

In fact, it's not just viewers who have been rioting online since the devastating news broke, but the show's creators as well, who have publicly called the studio's bluff. A League Of Their Own creator Abbi Jacobson took to Instagram to reveal her true thoughts on the matter:

“To blame this cancellation on the strike, (which is an essential fight for fair wages, protections and working conditions, etc…) is bullsh#t and cowardly,” she wrote in a caption to the picture from the set.

She later went on to thank all the people who worked hard to bring the show to life. As unfortunate as it is, there is currently no indication that Amazon Prime will respond to the backlash they are facing and reverse their decision to cancel an already-renewed show.

Not only has this decision angered A League Of Their Own fans, but it has also caused a lot of anxiety and confusion for those who are still waiting to hear about their favorite Amazon Prime series renewals.

The network is also home to shows like The Boys, which are deliberately holding on to their already-produced seasons until the strikes end.

Keep an eye out for updates on Amazon Prime shows as the network continues to make tough decisions.
