A Heart-Wrenching Detail in Schitt's Creek Finale You Probably Never Noticed
After all these years, how about diving back into the world of Schitt's Creek and weeping a bit?
Schitt's Creek started off as a story of a bunch of an entitled family unable to appreciate the little things and living off of being petty, but the Roses definitely finished their on-screen journey in a beautiful and tear-provoking way.
It's not like the show's finale needs any additional things to make one want to cry, but there is one detail that you most likely never noticed.
Almost all interactions between Johnny Rose and Roland Schitt were about the latter offering some kind of a questionable hot take, and Johnny immediately raising his eyebrows and starting an argument.
However, the finale apparently marked the first ever time when Johnny just agreed with Roland.
At the David and Patrick wedding, Roland says "Is it just me, or do they look like husband and wife?". He says it when he sees David and his sister Alexis who for some reason decided to wear white for his wedding.
But instead of hissing at Roland, Johnny simply smiles and says "Yup. They kinda do."
And yes, it looks like it was the first time in the show when Johnny just agreed with Roland immediately instead of arguing. The lovely detail was noticed by Reddit user Old-Ad-336.
Other fans could not help but sigh and (maybe, a little bit) cry. The way Schitt's Creek appeared to have made every line and every arc on the show a meaningful part of a big heart-wrenching story was "incredible", according to Redditors.
For some people, the take was actually an eye-opener.
"I couldn't figure out what made that moment seem so sweet, but you're totally right- the long history of Roland saying bizarre things and for once someone agrees," another Redditor added.
After six seasons of bickering, Johnny and Roland managed to just agree; after six seasons of being reckless and sketchy, Alexis managed to grow up, and her brother David found his true love. The entire Rose family has learned a lot during the show, and that is, of course, the most heart-wrenching detail about it.
Schitt's Creek aired on CBC from 2015 to 2020.
