The show about 8 siblings navigating the world of love and intrigue in a highly fictionalized Regency London left everyone hot and heavy after the steamy season 1, and stressed out after the love triangle of season 2.

Now that season 3 has almost arrived, viewers are ready to celebrate the friends-to-lovers trope represented by Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington. While Colin seemed like a fool to go along with the fraud scheme that the new Lord Featherington had set up, it all came together in the last episode of the second season. He came through and made a powerful speech to stop the scheme altogether and protect not only Penelope, but the entire Featherington family. A gesture no one could have expected.

While this is a sad moment, it is crucial to moving the story forward in Season 3.
