7 Twilight Outfits That Are So 2000s It Hurts, Ranked
With its emo vibe and fashion crimes, Twilight was the cultural reset of the 2000s (whether it’s a good or bad one is for you to decide).
Here are seven outfits from Twilight that just scream the 2000s.
7. Victoria’s Fur Coat
From the white fur coat and sequin shirt to the low-rise jeans, this look is as 2000s as it gets. It was trendy at the time, and those shirts were everywhere after the film came out, but in 2023, it’s definitely a tad too over-the-top.
6. Emmett’s Layered Look
While layers are fashionable at the moment as well, they were quite different 20 years ago. Emmett Cullen’s attire consists of a shirt, a hoody that’s open, and a vest, but the look really comes together thanks to his white pants with pockets. Not practical, but it lowkey works.
5. Bella’s First Outfit
Again, layers were the thing! Bella Swan is sporting jeans that should start a lot higher, a long-sleeved gray shirt, and a short-sleeved brown one on top. The colors do not look good together, but hey, it was 2008, who cared?
4. Charlie’s Timeless Flannel
Flannels simply can’t go out of style (as millennials, we refuse to let them), but they were peak 2000s casual chic. There couldn’t have been a better character than Charlie Swan to rock a flannel shirt. This ‘fit hurts our eyes but just because we are crying for Bella’s dad who had to put up with all the Twilight madness and never got any credit.
3. Bella’s Bowling Shirt (10:20)
Apparently, not knowing her colors is intended to be part of Bella’s personality, otherwise we can’t explain this fashion disaster. Brown didn’t work with gray, but moss greene was even worse for Bella’s complexion. No wonder Edward was about to hurl in that scene!
2. Jacob’s Grandma Hat
Jacob Black didn’t really have any outfit misses in Twilight, except for maybe this winter hat. Bizarre head dress was an unfortunate characteristic of the 2000s, though. Jacob’s clothes look well-balanced enough, but this hat gives the impression that he skipped his hair wash day and grabbed the first thing he could find to cover it up.
1. Alice’s Casual Evening Attire (1:06:02)
In the scene where the Cullens formally meet Bella, Alice could be the cover girl for any 2000s fashion magazine. From her accessories and the bolero jacket to the flowy dress, Alice just looks exquisitely fitting for her time.
