Bitconned (January 1, 2024)

Whether you're a cryptocurrency believer or a total skeptic, you'll be outraged by the story of Ray Trapani. In 2018 Trapani and two co-conspirators were arrested for their roles as co-founders of Centra Tech, a cryptocurrency company that earned them $25 million.

Unfortunately the company was a hollow shell based on brazen lies, plagiarized material, an imaginary CEO, and totally fabricated LinkedIn profiles.

The most infuriating part? Even now, Trapani is breezy about defrauding people. 'Ever since I was a kid I always wanted to be a criminal', he says early on in the documentary, which goes on to showcase exactly how that wish was granted.

Fool Me Once (January 1, 2024)

Adapted from the bestselling mystery novel by Harlan Coben, Fool Me Once starts with the brutal murder of Joe Stern (Richard Armitage). After the funeral, his wife Maya (Michelle Keegan) installs a hidden nanny cam in her house – and is shocked to see Joe breaking in and visiting their two-year-old daughter.

Maya's quest for the truth brings her into dangerous waters, especially when it seems like her husband's case might be connected to another death in the family.

You Are What You Eat: A Twin Experiment (January 1, 2024)

Inspired by a groundbreaking Stanford Medicine experiment, this documentary series takes several pairs of genetically identical twins and follows the results when one half of each pair goes vegan.

On top of following the way the diet impacts the participants' health, the documentary also spends time examining where our food comes from and its impact on the planet.

Society of the Snow (December 22, 2023)

Genre: Adventure/Thriller

In 1972, a plane crash stranded a Uruguayan rugby team for 72 days in the Andes mountains. The survivors were forced to make difficult decisions in their fight for survival – most famously, whether or not to resort to cannibalism.

Now that story gets the Netflix treatment with this new motion picture. Although it stars a mostly unknown cast, the movie has received lavish praise from critics and so far carries a score of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Good Grief (January 5, 2024)

Genre: Drama, Romance

Dan Levy writes, directs, and stars in this moody ode to love and grief. He plays Marc, an artist whose life revolves around his gregarious writer husband Oliver.

A year after Oliver's death in a fatal car accident, Marc is finally ready to start moving on. He reads the card that Oliver left behind on the night of his death – and discovers that his husband was hiding several secrets, including an apartment in Paris. Marc takes off for the City of Lights with two friends in tow, and begins the process of grieving all over again.

Champion, Season 1 (January 11, 2024)

Bosco Champion is a rap superstar in the UK, and his sister Vita works as his personal assistant. She lives in her brother's shadow until her own talent is discovered by his nemesis, and Vita begins her own meteoric rise to fame.

This BBC/Netflix co-production follows Vita and Bosco's rivalry as it threatens to tear their family apart. Hailed as 'a love letter to Black British music', Champion weaves together a compelling family drama with a portrait of the cutthroat world of music.

Lift (January 12, 2024)

Genre: Adventure

Master thief Cyrus and his gang are cornered by the FBI, and threatened with a whole host of charges. Or, they can trade their freedom for one giant favor: stealing $500 million from a terrorist cell. The catch? The heist will have to happen on an airplane while it's 40,000 feet in the air.

Just don't confuse this one with the 2022's Lift, which is a documentary about homeless kids who learn ballet.
