7 Most Binge-Worthy Christmas Movies You’ll Never Get Tired Of Rewatching
Because nothing beats the feeling of absolute comfort.
The holiday season is all about feeling good, and what helps the most is the fact that you can spend several days doing what you love: enjoying quality time with your family and friends and, of course, curling up in front of the big screen to watch your favorite movies.
Every household has its own Christmas traditions, and watching certain movies is the most common one. While each family may have created their own list over the years, we are going to share the movies that are most often included in every one of them.
1. Home Alone
It is no surprise that Home Alone is the number one movie to watch during the holidays. The story of a little boy's wish come true never gets old. Kevin and the situation he finds himself in when his parents accidentally leave him home alone and go to Paris is a perfect movie for those who grew up in the 90's when the movie was first released.
But it can also be a great watch for their children, as the story is still so funny and sincere that it will be enjoyed by literally everyone. No wonder that almost every TV channel decides to stream the movie during the Christmas season.
2. Harry Potter Saga
There are two types of fans of the Harry Potter franchise: those who watch the movies on Halloween and those who watch them during the Christmas holidays. Well, we're in the second camp, and it's not just because there are absolutely stunning Christmas scenes in the movies, it's more of a tradition.
“It's a fairytale! It has magic, a lot of snow, few balls and a literal "Christmas at Hogwarts” soundtrack. One of the "Christmas time” must watch,” Redditor JaneLady said.
3. How The Grinch Stole Christmas (And Two More Grinch Movies)
The original 1966 animated film has long since become a must-see Christmas classic. What fans of the very first Grinch movie like most about it is its length and probably its rhyming. Now, in 2000, Jim Carrey starred in another adaptation of the story. Unfortunately, the movie didn't become a hit, but the diehard fans still hold it in high regard. Finally, there is the most recent cartoon from 2018, simply titled: The Grinch, which is an easy and pleasant watch for the holiday season.
4. It’s A Wonderful Life
Well, what could be better than a total reassurance that life does get better? It's A Wonderful Life serves this purpose perfectly and becomes one of the must-see movies during the holidays. It focuses on the main character, George Bailey, as he discovers the journey of regaining the meaning of life. The movie gives us all a lesson on how we need to appreciate our lives and the ones we love the most. The premise of the movie is so simple yet so powerful.
5. The Nightmare Before Christmas
Another example of a movie about which fans cannot decide when is the best time to watch it. However, the scale is more on the side of those who watch it during the winter holidays, and we think that's the right decision.
Tim Burton and Henry Sellick's masterpiece mixes two worlds, Halloween and Christmas, into one dangerous universe when Jack Skellington gets the idea to turn into Santa Claus and "steal" Christmas. The way the movie's creators combined a sinister plot with somewhat sweet characters is pure magic.
6. Elf
This 2003 movie stars Will Ferrell as an elf who is not a typical elf because he is actually a human. After some time in Santa's crew, he discovers the truth and finds out that his real father is a bad person who ended up on Santa's naughty list. So Buddy decides to prove to his father that there really is such a thing as Christmas magic to make him feel better.
7. Love Actually
This film is for true romance seekers who believe that the New Year will finally bring them love. Love Actually follows a group of seemingly unrelated people in the weeks prior to Christmas. Each has their own story to tell, and eventually the audience begins to see that the lives of each person are somehow connected to those around them.
The star-studded cast includes Hugh Grant, Alan Rickman, Keira Knightly, Emma Thompson and many more, so if you are a rare example of a person who has never seen it, this year might be the time to change that. We feel it in our fingers...
