Point Break (1991)

The purest of bro action fantasies, Point Break follows FBI agent Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves ) as he infiltrates a gang of surfers-slash-bank robbers. But soon Utah falls in love with a friend of the gang, and develops a bromance with its leader Bodhi (Patrick Swayze).
High octane and stupid in the best possible way, they just don't make 'em like Point Break any more.
Office Space (1999)

One of the most quotable movies of the decade ('We find it's always better to fire people on a Friday…'), Office Space is the original satire of corporate drone life. Peter (Ron Livingston) is slowly losing his soul at a cubicle infested software company. When his therapist dies in the middle of a hypnosis session, Peter is left in a state of blissful relaxation. He shows up late for work, plays cards at his desk, and accidentally charms his way through work while not giving a f***.
The Blair Witch Project (1999)

We're used to 'found footage' movies now, but it all started with The Blair Witch Project. When this low-budget horror first came out, the style was so unprecedented that many viewers believed they were watching a real, unscripted haunting. Of course the whole thing was a stunt, and the movie (which followed teens being stalked in the woods by a malevolent presence) went down as an instant classic.
Speed (1994)

Joss Whedon did an uncredited pass at the script for Speed, which explains why this action movie is so damn funny. Keanu Reeves plays Jack Traven, a young SWAT officer who annoys a mad bomber by foiling one of his plots. In revenge, the bomber plants an explosive on an LA city bus, and rigs it to blow should the bus dip under 50 mph. Sandra Bullock plays Annie, a bus passenger who becomes Jack's partner as they try to find a way to get out of the situation alive.
But I'm a Cheerleader (1999)

Megan (Natasha Lyonne) is an All-American girl. She's a cheerleader, she gets good grades, and she's dating her high school's most popular jock. So she's shocked when her family has an intervention: they believe she is a lesbian, and they're sending her to a conversion therapy camp. This has the opposite effect that was intended when the naive Megan starts to develop feelings for a fellow (female) camper.
And yes, that's RuPaul of Drag Race fame playing camp counselor Mike.
The Usual Suspects (1995)

Winner of two Academy Awards (Best Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor for Kevin Spacey), The Usual Suspects remains one of the most revered crime dramas of all time.
Roger 'Verbal' Kint (Spacey) is one of only two survivors after a gang of criminals is massacred on a boat. After his arrest, Verbal tells the police the complicated story of how the group was formed, how they ended up on the boat, and the name of their elusive and terrifying crime boss: Keyser Söze. Police doubt that Söze really exists – they think he's just a boogeyman – but by the end of the movie they will learn just how wrong they are.
Good Will Hunting (1997)

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck co-wrote Good Will Hunting, and won a Best Original Screenplay Oscar for their efforts.
Will (Damon) is a math prodigy with a genius-level IQ. He comes from a poor background, and is working as a janitor at MIT when he is discovered by Professor Gerald Lambeau (Stellan Skarsgard ). After Will is arrested in a street brawl, Lambeau strikes a deal with the court: Will gets released in exchange for working with Lambeau and attending regular therapy sessions. Will manages to scare off all of his therapists, until he meets the unorthodox Sean Maguire (Robin Williams).
